The executive team at Modernize Home Services brings decades of combined expertise in home services, performance marketing, and technology. They lead our mission to simplify the connection between homeowners and contractors — guiding projects seamlessly from inquiry to install — while supporting cross-functional teams focused on delivering exceptional service and results for both partners and homeowners.

Jeff Barnes

Jeff Barnes

Senior Vice President, General Manager

Jeff Barnes serves Modernize Home Services, a division of Quinstreet, as the Senior Vice President and General Manager. He is the lead executive responsible for the division’s profitability, people and growth.

Jeff began his career in the home improvement industry in 2008 as the Regional General Manager for Clearwire in the Northwest. He joined Modernize in 2015 as the Director of Enterprise Sales and Account Management, and has since bolstered his career in business development, account management, team-building and technology prowess. Jeff carries over a decade of senior leadership experience in pre- and post-IPO environments, has been a stakeholder in several acquisitions, and thrives in the digital technology space.

Jeff graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Political Science and a Sales Certification from the Foster School of Business. He went on to hone his craft through the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, Executive Education Program.

Jamie Smith

Jamie Smith

Vice President, Homeowner Experience and Client Acquisition

Jamie Smith serves Modernize Home Services as Vice President of Homeowner Experience and Client Acquisition, and strategic business leader. She focuses on multi-channel marketing strategy, and spearheads the Modernize brand promise initiative for both homeowners and clients. Jamie is responsible for client demand generation, homeowner user experience, and communication technologies, constantly challenging the status quo to make it easier for homeowners to embark on, and complete, home improvement projects.

Prior to joining Modernize, she was the director of marketing services at Motiv, a marketing automation and CRM management firm where she has helped many B2C and B2B organizations, including NASCAR, Powerball, NFL Alumni, and Johnson & Johnson with their marketing programs.

Jamie graduated with a degree in Organizational Communications from the University of North Carolina and obtained a certificate from the Management Development Program at Harvard Business School.

Gregg Hicks

Gregg Hicks

Vice President, Performance Marketing

Gregg Hicks serves Modernize Home Services as Vice President of Performance Marketing and strategic business leader. With over 20 years of experience in the home services space, Gregg brings a unique blend of expertise across analytics, media strategy, product management, and strategic partnerships to drive business success.

At Modernize, Gregg shapes the company’s merchandising vision and leads strategic growth initiatives that integrate conversion optimization, user experience design, and media strategy. His leadership focuses on creating seamless, high-impact connections between homeowners and home service professionals, while expanding new trade opportunities and elevating the brand experience. In addition, Gregg builds and nurtures key industry partnerships, driving long-term business success and reinforcing Modernize’s position as a trusted leader in the home improvement space.

He holds a BA in Marketing Management with an emphasis in Communications from Hartwick College.

Nate Koenigsfeld

Vice President, Operations and Analytics

Nate Koenigsfeld is the Vice President of Media Business Development, and serves as the strategic leader of all business operations at Modernize Home Services. He is responsible for company performance forecasting, publisher and client onboarding, client data ingestion and qualty, and data visualization across teams. Nate and his teams own the development and scale of Modernize’s proprietary Quality Management Framework. Nate has been a leader in the home services industry since 2008, serving a variety of different roles, with expertise in account management, business development, product management, and analytics.

Prior to working at Modernize Home Services and QuinStreet, Nate provided business insights to Google through contract work, as well as working as a marketing associate with a small business benefits provider. Nate graduated with a degree in Public Relations from the University of Northern Iowa.  He went on to get his Masters degree in Communication from Virginia Tech University.

Arlin Owsley

Vice President of Calls

Arlin Owsley serves Modernize Home Services, a division of QuinStreet, as a senior executive and Vice President, where he leads revenue strategy, sales operations, and contact center performance. He collaborates with departments across the organization to ensure alignment with company-wide growth objectives.

Arlin is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of global executive leadership, establishing and growing sales, marketing, and business development teams. He has held senior roles at leading home service brands, including Clearwire and Protect America, and brings a proven track record in both Fortune 500 firms and high-growth startup environments. Known for developing revenue-generating acquisition models and guiding strategic brand direction, Arlin was instrumental in a $21.6 billion agreement while at Clearwire.

Arlin earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business and Entrepreneurship from Boise State University.

Adam Diekelman

Vice President and GM of 360 Finance

Adam Diekelman serves Modernize Home Services as a senior executive and strategic advisor, guiding the company’s growth and innovation at the intersection of home improvement, financial services, and technology. At Modernize, Adam leverages his deep expertise in financial services and data-driven marketing to develop innovative financing solutions and strategic growth initiatives that empower homeowners and drive business performance.

Prior to joining Modernize, Adam built, owned, and operated multiple high-performing lending portfolios and played a key role as Interim General Manager in the successful exit and sale of MediaOcean to Vista Equity Partners for over $700 million. He began his career in Chicago’s financial sector after earning his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and has over 15 years of executive leadership experience spanning capital markets, digital media strategy, operational oversight, M&A execution, and cross-functional team scaling.

Adam thrives at the intersection of fintech, marketing, and technology, turning complex business challenges into growth opportunities.
